Congregation Beth Tikvah in Dollard des Ormeaux holds an annual golf tournament, at which time they partner with a different organization. When participants tee-off on Wed. May 30 at Elmridge Golf and Country Club, the beneficiary will be Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, Larry and Rina Fisher, members of the synagogue, spearheaded the move. They have been involved with the organization for many years. Their beloved late daughter Jaclyn suffered from Crohn’s Disease. Since her passing they have doubled their efforts to help find a cure. Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis are diseases that inflame the lining of the GI (gastrointestinal) tract and disrupt the body’s ability to digest food, absorb nutrition, and eliminate waste in a healthy manner..
Organizer Mona Roshke, a member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Canada board, has been able to secure two first class tickets from Delta anywhere in North America, and some really great prizes for the event. The price includes green fees, an open bar, a bbq lunch and dinner, great giveaways and a silent auction. The committee members are: Roshke, the Fishers, Stefanie Rosenblatt-Bergman, Stuart Frenkel, Jamie Goren, Dr. Gershon Frisch, Irwin Horner, Johnny Mestel and Howard Popliger.
